Transitioning into college is the time where incoming freshmen find out what happens when there is no one there every morning to turn on your lights or to shake you from your slumber. Maybe, you were one of the freshmen who lucked up and did not have eight a.m. courses on your schedule or a roommate who could wake you up as they get up for their early morning classes. But, if you were like me, your first semester for freshman year included eight a.m courses everyday and a rigorous service requirements on your schedule, so you were the roommate who would wake up the Sleeping Beauty on the other side of the room.
Having a busy schedule was not a new thing for me to become accustomed to in college. My family is always on the go from one activity or event to another. The difference is that now everything going on in my calendar are my own events. During the time management training, I learned the importance of continuing to maintain my schedule. I already try to plan out every minute so I can accomplish it all, but I had the opportunity to sit own and update my Google Calendar (aka my lifesaver) with my continuously changing schedule. I also learned the importance of making sure that there is still time for me to do the things that I want to do and not necessarily have to do - just to ensure that I do not lose myself in this transitional period.
